  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 3–5 minutes).
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla.
  5. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined; gently fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Press half of the dough into the prepared baking dish.
  7. Drizzle caramel sauce over the dough layer.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of remaining dough on top of the caramel layer; spread carefully.
  9. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  10. Allow to cool completely before slicing into bars.
