Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh salmon (cut into 4 equal pieces)
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chicken broth or water
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Prep the salmon by bringing it to room temperature (15–20 minutes) and patting it dry. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic powder, grated ginger, Worcestershire sauce, chicken broth (or water), and cornstarch.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat with olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter. Sear the salmon skin-side down for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Flip the salmon, reduce heat to medium, and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes.
  5. Add the remaining butter to the skillet, pour in the glaze mixture around the salmon, and let it bubble for 20–30 seconds before serving.
