- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar (for sugar coating)

- 3/4 cup (170g) unsalted butter (for buttercream)
- 3 cups (375g) confectioners' sugar, sifted (for buttercream)
- 1/3 cup (67g) light brown sugar, packed (for buttercream)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon (for buttercream)
- 2–3 teaspoons whole milk (as needed for consistency)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon for coating. Set aside.
- Using a mixer, beat softened butter, shortening, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla until creamy. Gradually add flour, cornstarch, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon until fully combined.
- Shape dough into balls (about 1/4 cup each) and roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture before placing on baking sheets.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes; let cool completely before frosting with cinnamon buttercream.
