  • 3 cans tomato sauce (8 oz each)
  • 4 cups beef or chicken broth
  • 1 can kidney beans (15 oz), drained
  • 1 can Great Northern or cannellini beans (15 oz), drained
  • 1 cup ditalini pasta
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large soup pot over medium heat.
  2. Add ground beef (or mixture) and brown while breaking it apart.
  3. Stir in diced onion, celery, and carrots; sauté for about 5 minutes.
  4. Add crushed garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  5. Incorporate dried basil, Italian seasoning, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes; mix well.
  6. Pour in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and broth; stir to combine.
  7. Bring to a boil; season with salt and pepper as needed.
  8. Add drained beans; simmer while stirring occasionally.
  9. Stir in ditalini pasta and cook until al dente (8–10 minutes).
