  • 1 teaspoon red gel food dye
  • 4 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • Cream cheese (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Warm milk to 110°F and stir in yeast; let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt; mix in cubed butter until crumbly.
  3. Add yeast mixture, eggs, and food dye; knead until smooth using a stand mixer.
  4. Allow dough to rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about an hour).
  5. Prepare cinnamon filling by mixing butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until smooth.
  6. Roll out dough into a rectangle and spread cinnamon filling evenly.
  7. Roll tightly into a log; cut into 12 equal pieces.
  8. Let rolls rise again for 20 minutes before baking at 375°F for about 25-27 minutes.
  9. Prepare cream cheese icing by mixing cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
